Before I took a first lesson from Oliver I had not had any experience of driving a car and only very basic knowledge about using a road in general (mostly from a cyclist point of view, which is very limited knowledge!). In a situation like that it is hard to overestimate your instructor’s patience, goodwill and, above all, overall competence. I was happy to find all these qualities implemented in Oliver’s teaching. Since the very first lesson taken from Oliver my confidence in my ability to drive a car safely and legally was growing and I could trace a progress made every single hour. Nothing is more encouraging to any learner than strong evidence of progress!

Since English is not my mother tongue, I particularly appreciated the way Oliver communicated with me using Plain English: because of clarity and brevity of his instruction a language barrier almost did not exist. Detailed, yet concise analysis of all aspects of driving accompanied my driving all the time. Last but not least: it is hard to imagine a better car to learn to drive in than Oliver’s Fabia!

I have found Oliver Ridgway of Ridgway Driving School to be an excellent instructor.

From start to finish, the lessons were well organised and relaxed, when I had difficulty learning certain things, Oliver was relaxed and helped me through the process, ensuring that every criteria was met. Very methodical teaching style, however the lessons felt very personal, so I felt like I was learning from a friend rather than just an instructor.
